Derek

DerekDerek has been a trainer for Interactive Trader from the very beginning. His expertise in the options market and experience with education development made him an essential part of building and creating the systems used by the company today.

Derek’s background in Education and Science/Technology has served him well as he’s worked with product and process development to bring user friendly and effective products to the trading industry.

 


Edmund

EdEd has been active in the options markets for more than 2 decades. His interest in options began when he studied finance in college. At that time, options were a very new instrument among listed financial products.

In addition to working as an options market maker on the PHLX, he later acted as portfolio manager on the buy side, and as an options execution specialist and strategist on the sell side.

Continuing his financial education has been key to his profitable career. He received a CFA charter in 2008. The CFA stands for Chartered Financial Analyst. This is an elite designation held by fewer than 150,000 people worldwide.

His passion for financial education and enthusiasm for options trading are merged in the goal of providing individual investors with actionable insights into the options markets.


Jim

JimJim Taylor is a graduate of Utah State University with a B.S. in Business and was accepted to several law schools throughout the country. He gave up the opportunity of law school to become a registered investment adviser and was licensed for one of the largest independent brokerages in the country.

Jim has been a trader in securities for over 21 years and in 2003 he moved into the investor education field as a personal coach and a national workshop instructor for the nation’s largest investor education company. He built and taught many highly successful investor training programs and to-date has taught more than 40,000 individuals how to become active traders in the stock market.

Jim specializes in investor education and personal coaching on stocks, options, technical analysis, and advanced options. His creative and highly successful options strategies are followed by individuals across the country, as well as internationally. He has taught in every state in the U.S. and in Canada and Europe. His unique approach to education is to simplify the complex structure of the markets and to help individuals from all walks of life become successful.

His passion for financial education and enthusiasm for options trading are merged in the goal of providing individual investors with actionable insights into the options markets.


John

John’s trading career started over 10 years ago. At that time, John was a fairly good looking college athlete. In the off season, John took care of swimming pools. There was one customer who really impressed John. With a beautiful home (obviously with a pool), the customer seemed to be home all the time, spent lots of time with his kids, and appeared in all other aspects to live the life John most desired. One day John asked the man, “What do you do for a living?” The man replied, “I trade options from home.” John was hooked. John became an option trader.

Since then, John has worked for a variety of brokerages in many capacities around options trading and trading in general. John finished his education, got an advanced degree, and continues to trade and teach about options. John has traded extensively, and he has worked with clients and students extensively.

John’s main interest and specialty is volatility and volatility trading. John believes the only way to profit long term from options trading is to buy volatility less than realized volatility and sell volatility more than realized volatility. Sad as some (his spouse) might believe, however, this is John’s primary passion. John spends most of his free time reading academic papers about options and volatility, modeling volatility with his below-average programming skills, trading volatility, and dreaming of different ways to trade volatility.

John also loves to spend time with his wife and three daughters in their hometown of Boise, Idaho—America’s most livable city.

Survey results displayed were compiled over a 12-month period, and have been audited by a third-party. Some customers attend the training for education purposes only, but were included in satisfaction survey results. Some customers attend the training and do not apply the concepts taught, and therefore, do not make money.
